Welcome to the Cottonwood Inn, B and B
Experience Taos, NM and the casual comfort of the Southwest at the Cottonwood Inn B&B. The Cottonwood Bed and Breakfast is ideally located just 10 minutes from the Historic Taos Plaza - allowing you to enjoy Taos without all the hustle and bustle. The Cottonwood Bed and Breakfast is easy to access and very convenient to many area activities such as world-class skiing, hiking, fishing, climbing, biking, the Taos Pueblo, museums, galleries, shopping, and much more.
Situated on over an acre of land, our bed and breakfast has spectacular gardens for you to enjoy complete with the relaxing sounds of the many birds who gather around our courtyard fountain. Our b and b is nestled at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains - which means visitors at The Cottonwood B and B enjoy breath-taking mountain and mesa views. The spacious and elegant rooms will accommodate your every need as you relax in the unique surroundings and enjoy that special ambiance only found in the Southwest, and particularly in Taos.
The Cottonwood B and B is a superlative example of the adobe style of architecture that defines New Mexico and makes it unique in the United States. As you wander throughout our 7,000+ square foot house you'll find wood-burning kiva fireplaces (11 of them!), dozens of vigas - both shaved and raw, latilla-lined ceilings, nichos containing local art, bancos surrounding private kiva fireplaces, saltillo and hand-painted tiles, and massive lintels which serve to support equally massive hand-carved doors.
The beauty of the Cottonwood B and B isn't limited to the building itself. The property boasts extensive and beautiful gardens. Current owners Brantly and Shantal Goodwin owe a debt of gratitude to the prior owners of the Cottonwood Bed and Breakfast for many of the spectacular plants you'll find as you wander the grounds of the b and b. Most notably, Tal Luther, well-respected and renowned bibliophile, was instrumental in the design of the b and b's back courtyard garden, a series of cultivated and wilderness areas which serve to attract as many as four different kinds of hummingbirds to their blossoms. For a good part of the spring, summer and fall the hummingbirds flock by the dozens on any given morning.
